Caring For Mums
Many women have experienced the stress that can come with being home with preschool children. They know firsthand the benefits of support and friendship during these hectic years. For some mothers, support comes in the form of contact with relatives who live within the surrounding suburbs. For others, family members live too far away or are unable to have regular contact because of work commitments or their own busy schedules.
“Caring for mums” is an opportunity being developed to serve the women of our community.
Knowing that someone is as close as the telephone and is willing to share a coffee or give you a break from your 24 hour caring role is a reminder that mothers are not alone in their parenting roles with young children.
Our Vision
To recognize and respond to the needs of mothers with preschool children.
Our vision is for Christian women to offer friendship and practical support so that mothers can take a short break to do something for themselves.
Take a long walk, enjoy a coffee and a chat with a friend, join a Bible Study, participate in playtime with your other children, time out to have a haircut or just go shopping!
We want to enable mothers to recharge their spiritual and physical energy so they can continue to meet the needs of their energetic preschoolers.

Mums In Touch
Mums in Touch International (MITI) is an international prayer ministry comprising of small groups of mums (typically 5 - 15) who meet on a weekly basis to pray for their children, schools and teachers. MITI operates in over 95 countries with over 200,000 members and started 22 years ago in the USA by one fearful mum and her two anxious friends. These women knew God was the answer to the worries they felt when their boys became teenagers.
Each meeting lasts for one hour and follows a structured format. Mums pray conversationally in one accord, listen to the Holy Spirit and trust God for answers. This ministry is for mothers, grandmothers, aunts or friends who are willing to pray for a specific child irrespective of the child’s age. We know our children face so many pressures and to “stand in the gap” through prayer is the best gift we can give to them.
Claire’s First Hand Experience
Some years ago I had the privilege of forming and leading a MITI group in the UK and we were truly amazed at the way the Lord answered our prayers. We gained confidence and purpose in our praying and were encouraged and strengthened as we prayed Scripture into the lives of our children. I experienced first hand the life changing effects of answered prayer.
The Lord has definitely given me a passion for this ministry. Mums In Touch International - mums in touch with God, their children, their school and one another through prayer. We need to support and encourage each other, especially those mothers who carry heavy burdens for their children.
