OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

HSC 2008 – 16TH OCTOBER TO 13TH NOVEMBER

Each year we are invited to join Baptist women around the world in praying for each other. This Monday, 3rd November, marks the day this year but please feel free to pray at a time and day that suits you. Prayer guides are available at the Resource Table or you can log on at www.bwanet.org/.

TIME OUT LADIES LUNCHEON

HYMN AFTERNOON NEXT SUNDAY

Come and sing all your old favourites at our Hymn Afternoon to be held next Sunday, 9th November at 3pm in the Activity Centre. Afternoon tea will be provided. Everybody is welcome.

FORUM ON THE MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Friday, 14th November at St Alban’s Anglican Church Hall, 3 Pembroke Street, Epping from 12.30pm to 2pm. Guest Speaker: The Hon Bob McMullan, MP, Parliamentary Secretary for International Development Assistance. Light lunch & refreshments. RSVP by 7th Nov - 9816 5911.

AGED CARE MINISTRY

We could really use your help caring for the residents at two retirement homes in Carlingford. Every six weeks or so, on a Sunday morning, we conduct a short informal church service and socialise with the residents. Why don’t you come along and help us out. The next one is Sunday, 16th November. Call Mark Wilson on 9634 7935.

2008 YOUTH SUMMER CAMP – 5TH TO 7TH DECEMBER

2008 Youth Summer Camp with Jarrod Myers and The Youth Band, at Life Adventure Camp Site,

Kurrajong (30m Waterslide, Giant Swing, Flying Fox, and Leap of Faith). Cost: $135 first child, $130 second child, includes travel by bus, accommodation, meals and all adult supervised activities. Contact Peter Clarke on pclarke@duralbaptist.org.au for more information.

OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR KALUMBURU

Tim has informed us of the need for an employment opportunity at Kalumburu. This is a paid position, Operations Manager, and would suit someone with either handyman, maintenance or trades background, with the ability to work alongside others. It presents a great opportunity to bring a further Christian impact into the community. If you would like some more details please contact Brian Codrington, Julie Brown or Chris Thomas.

FAMILIES NEEDED TO HOST STUDENTS IN 2009

Starting in first term 2009 we are expecting to have five more students joining us here at Dural………three from SOLOMON ISLANDS and two from KALUMBURU. They will be attending William Clarke College and so we are seeking families who would like to have one of these students stay in their home for the year. If you think that this is a way that your family could become more involved in mission and you would like some more information then please call Brian Codrington, Julie Brown or Chris Thomas.

LIGHT UP EVERYONE’S MORNING!!

The lighting team is looking for anyone who would like to be involved in setting up and running the lights for the 9:30am service one or two times a month. No previous experience required. Please contact John Carr through the Church Office on 8989 0000
